CARS CATALOGUE 1913 to 1939 |
From 1913 until the start of World War II, Morris produced dozens of models and if the variations of all these different models are taken into account, there are several hundred different cars! Clicking on a year below left will take you to a list of all the cars on offer in that year, and by clicking through further, you can access brief pdf details about each model, extracted from the appropriate year's brochure. Alternatively, you can browse alphabetically arranged lists by making a selection from the pages list below right. All the pdfs are downloadable and printable. NOTE ABOUT DATES: From the early 1920s onwards, Morris Motors produced brochures annnually. Car production for any given year began in late summer, so that the cars could be shown at the October Motor Show. Hence, for example, the first Eights were manufactured in 1934, and were offered for sale at the end of 1934, yet the Eight appears for the first time in the 1935 brochure. Many models were produced for several years with only minor changes. Such models have received a separate entry for each year they were on offer. NOTE ABOUT NAMING: Nowadays, some models have been retro-fitted with a name they did not have originally. For example, "Pre-Series" is applied to early Eights and Tens; we hear of "Doctor's Coupe". All terms never used by Morris. So, with all the model variations, the only logical approach is to stay with the precise names that Morris Motors gave at the time of production, as used in their contemporary catalogues. YOU WILL NOTICE THAT SOME YEARS EARLY ON ARE GROUPED TOGETHER BECAUSE BROCHURES FOR THE INDIVIDUAL YEARS WERE EITHER NOT PUBLISHED OR HAVE NOT BEEN SOURCED.
